Navigating the Affordable Care Act

To be covered for most of 2019, you must enroll by January 31, 2019.

If you are on Medicare: Open Enrollment started October 15 and ended December 7. Please review your drug coverage and Advantage Plans as needed.

Anyone eligible for Medicaid or the Essential Plan can enroll throughout the year. New York is a Medicaid Expansion state, so more people are eligible. If the annual income for a single person is less than $16,105, Medicaid is an excellent option. The Essential Plan offered by the State, if an individual’s income is less than $24,120, is similar to Medicaid and can be free or cost $20 a month.

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) has created a number of changes that can be very challenging to navigate. Luckily, GMHC is an official ACA Navigator, and we are here to help.
